Such a beautiful little car. I'd love to own one of these...especially with an upgraded powerplant.

If you ever buy one, make sure you swap the engine... Those things are DEAD SLOW... I owned a Polo (same car different name) with the 0.9 litre, I could almost hit 60mph if I was going downhill and the car was homesick.
But I still loved it. Pea green with orange/burnt sienna interior :)

Ballsy posting something from stanceworks around these parts.
With that said, that is a pretty looking car

Well, it's an interesting and beautiful car. The stance doesn't exactly improve the look but I guess you could/should look beyond that.

I'm actually in the "stance done right looks good" club. Now, whatever that actually means-that is open for interpretation. If a car is going to sit low I'd like it to look like this.

There was a nice Audi 80 at Katie's C&C on Sat.
Red interior, really liked the looks of it.

They're really rare though. Quite unlike the mk2 Polo, which is still relatively plentiful and still dirt cheap. And probably much more durable, although not as charming.

That is one clean engine bay.

I had a MK1 Polo ten years ago.. it was a shitbox (but I loved it), can't even remember if I sold it or scrapped it, and I KNOW that I don't want to know how much it'd be worth today :P

Right? I'd love to do something like that with the 244, but I have no idea where to start.

Haha, I know. I found out earlier that this car was resold middle of last year for about 16,500 in CA. :(

Haha, I post a lot of their stuff; I don't always like how it sits (disclaimer: I like stance to a point), but I appreciate the effort and how crazy clean most of these cars are.

Haha, I figured as much. As soon as it said 60hp was the "peppier" trim, I knew it'd be slow as shit. Not sure what would fit in there, though. Engine bay looks pretty small, and I imagine much bigger would make the weight distribution look interesting.

Damnit. I was out of the state; I'll definitely be back this coming weekend though.

You can put a KR engine from a MK2 Golf GTi 16v in there quite easy... 140ish HP from the factory..

Really nice car, It was black, I'll do a photo dump around 4:00. V12 Zagato was there also.
I've got a bunch of pictures of it.

I agree with you there! It helps they have an eye for car photography too

Ah, presuming the car's as light as a small hatch from that era should be, 60 horsepower will do. It should be able to do 80-90 on the motorway, and accelerate at a decent enough pace to hit the speed limit before the end of the slip road. Much as I'd like some more power, my 60HP hatch - okay, 59 when new, and it certainly isn't that anymore - does the job.
